    • Checked into a hotel in Barajas, close to the airport, accompanied by a 41-yr old man with an Irish passport using the name Iqbal Afzal Admat.  From their room, they "made lengthy phone calls to Hamburg, Germany and Manchester, England."
    • Atta went back to the airport via hotel shuttle and paid for his room with a credit card.  He then "drove halfway across the country and checked into Hotel Sant Jordi in Tarragona, five miles north of Salou on the Mediterranean coast", a popular place for wealthy Arabs on holiday.
    • For the following six days, there was "hardly any trace" of Atta or of Ramzi Binalshibh who had also just arrived in Salou.  "The absence of other hotel stays, signed receipts or credit card stubs has led investigators to believe that the men may have met in a safe house provided by other Al Qaeda operatives in Spain."  The point man for al Qaeda in Spain was Imad Yarkas, a Syrian national.
    • The gathering in Salou is believed to be the final face-to-face rendezvous between Atta and his European liasons to finalize the 9/11/01 hijacking attacks. 
    • He flew back to Miami July 19th.

This summer will surely be hot ...19 [the eventual number of hijackers] certificates for private education and four exams.  Regards to the professor. Goodbye."  About three weeks before the 9/11/01 attacks, "targets were assigned to four teams, with three of them bearing a code name: The U.S. Capitol was called "The Faculty of Law;" the Pentagon became "The Faculty of Fine Arts;" and the North Tower of the World Trade Center was code-named..."The Faculty of Town Planning."
