THE ATTENDEES CONGRATULATED PRESIDENT SADDAM HUSSEIN FOR THE GLORIOUS FEASTS OF JULY AND THE 13 ANNIVERSARY OF THE DAY OF THE GREAT VICTORY IN AUG 8, 1988.

THE PRESIDENT HAILED EFFORTS exerted BY THE FIGHTERS AND THEIR ACTIVE PARTICIPATION EITHER ON THE LEVEL OF ACTIVATING THE MOVEMENT OF DEVELOPMENT FOR THE NATIONAL ECONOMY FIELDS OR ON THE LEVEL OF ENHANCING FIGHTING CAPABILITIES TO FACE UP TO THE AGGRESSORS AND FOIL THEIR CONSPIRING HARBORED SCHEMES AGAINST IRAQ, VOICING ADMIRATION OF THE ACHIEVEMENTS FULFILLED BY THE INVENTORS AT THE MILITARY INDUSTRY COMMISSION AND THE AIR DEFENCE IN DIFFERENT DOMAINS.

PRESIDENT SADDAM ADDRESSED THE ATTENDEES SAYING THAT HE WAS HAPPY FOR THE FULFILLED ACHIEVEMENTS WHICH INDICATE THAT THE RESURGENCE STATE REACHED A LEVEL MAKE US NOT COMFORTABLE FOR THE PRESENT ONLY BUT FOR THE FUTURE TOO AS THE CONFLICT IS MEANT TO KEEP THE IRAQIS PART OF THE PAST AND CLOSE THE FUTURE BEFORE THEM.

HE ADDED “ YOU DESIGNED THE PLAN FOR FACING UP TO YOUR ENEMY IN SOME KINDS OF ITS ACTIVITIES TO WEAKEN THEM OR CANCEL THEIR EFFECTIVENESS IN HARMING THE IRAQIS BUT AT The SAME TIME YOU OPENED NUMEROUS DOORS IN THE MOVEMENT OF LIFE ON THE LEVEL OF THE MILITARY SIDE, ARMS AND apparatus and on the civilian side in all life's demands "

President Saddam Hussein Meets Minister of Transport and Communications 

Baghdad, August 7

President Saddam Hussein has met Minister of Transport and Communications Ahmad Murtada Ahmad and some of the Ministry cadres.

On behalf of the attendance, Minister Ahmed congratulated President Saddam Hussein on the anniversary of the great victory day. He pledged to be loyal and sincere in their work to break the unjust embargo and offer best services to the people of Iraq.

President Saddam Hussein reviewed with the attendance the situation of the transport and communications sector and discussed ways of promoting this sector to cope with the recent developments in this sector and supporting it with all needed requirements in a way that contribute in alleviating the burden of the unjust embargo.

The president gave his directions and advice to activate and develop this sector. He praised efforts exerted by the ministry cadres and their innovative initiatives. “Each new idea presented by Iraqis pleases us for it expresses their genius within the period they live” President Saddam Hussein said. He expressed confidence that Iraqis are always capable of inventing something new nonstop because their role in life is not by using its ready items only but to create them.

President Saddam Hussein Receives Syrian Prime Minister

Baghdad, August 12

President Saddam Hussein on Saturday received Syrian Prime Minister Dr. Mohammed Mustapha Miru, chairman of the Syrian side at the joint Iraqi-Syrian higher committee and his accompanied delegation.

Dr. Miru conveyed to president Saddam Hussein greetings of his Syrian counterpart Bashar Al-assad and his confirmation of the supportive stand of the Syrian people of Iraq in its struggle to lift the sanctions, affirming that any aggression upon Iraq was upon Syria.

He stressed that cooperation and joint action between Iraq and Syria was for their peoples' common interest and for solidifying Arab solidarity to stand with the Palestinian people in its brave "Intifada" for restoring the occupied Palestinian land, Al-quds and Julan for their peoples, in addition to activate Arab boycott of the Zionist entity through a unified Arab position.

He added that there were a set of economic and trade agreements aimed at expanding the base of cooperation and partnership in different domains for the enhancement of the joint action and disappointment of those who talk about " smart sanctions", stressing that Syria rejected these sanctions and stood against them and demanded the disarmament of Israel mass destruction weapons.

He clarified that the economic power of Syria and Iraq would make the two countries in a distinguished economic position which would stimulate the masses and Arab countries to adhere to them.

Following his welcome of Dr. Miru and the accompanying delegation, president Hussein confirmed that the Syrian delegation was among their people and in their country, Iraq, and the cementing of relations between the two peoples was a great achievement for them and the nation although it was a natural work ought to be done.

He outlined that the enemies would keep harm the nation as they knew the meaning of the relation among its countries, notably between Iraq and Syria which surprised the enemies as they did not understand the natural state among the nation and thought it was a surprise despite it was a natural state among the Arab countries.

President Hussein conveyed his greetings to the Syrian president Bashar Al-assad and brothers in the leadership through his guest and comforted them that Iraq was strong and capable by its people.

Dr. Miru offered to president Saddam Hussein a Damask blade and silver vessel from the Syrian hand-made industries as an expression of the deepened brotherly relation linked Iraq and Syria.

Present during the audience from the Syrian side were Deputy Premier for Services Affairs and Ministers of Economy, Foreign Trade, Foreign Affairs, Construction, Transport, Industry as well as members of the joint higher committee, while the attendees from the Iraqi side were Vice-President Taha Yassien Ramadhan, chairman of the Iraqi side at the joint higher committee , Deputy Premier and Financial minister Hekmet Al-azawi as well as Ministers of Trade, Health,
Constructions and Foreign in addition to members of the committee.

President Saddam Hussein Receives Pakistani President’s Envoy 

Baghdad, August 13

President Saddam Hussein on Sunday received Pakistani President’s envoy, State Minister for Export Encouragement Office Tareq Ikram.

Mr. Ikram handed a message from President Perwez Musharaf to President Saddam Hussein concerning friendship and cooperation ties between Iraq and Pakistan and means of boosting them in a way that could serve the two friendly countries’ interests.

The Pakistani envoy conveyed President Musharaf’s greetings to President Saddam Hussein and to the people of Iraq. He lauded the outcomes of the Iraqi-Pakistani joint committee meetings.

Mr. Ikram said that a set of cultural and artistic activities have been organized in Pakistan to explain impacts of the sanctions on the people of Iraq. He expressed hope that the unjust sanctions would be lifted soon. 

He added that Pakistan exerted big efforts to support Iraq with all capabilities it has and it seeks to alleviate hardships of sanctions on the people of Iraq.

President Saddam Hussein said “since I was a school student I heard and saw through the exchanging visits of the former officials that relationship between Iraq and Pakistan were good at the level of governments and the peoples.. and I saw Pakistanis, during their visits to the Holy places in Iraq, were paying tribute and respect Iraq and Iraqis.. if the governments of Iraq and Pakistan looked at the essence of their relation away from foreign interventions, they would find it good, but when the foreigner intervened, this relation would be affected with foreigner's desire and not with the desire of the two countries’ people, for that reason we should exert a serious effective effort to express relation between our countries with its deservedly image on the base of historic ties and other meanings we’ve previously mentioned.”

“The west, in itreality, fights Islam and Muslims in a way or another not only for its economic and trade interests only, but for a historical background of the fight.. the best evidence for that was that the west planted the Zionist entity in the heart of the Arab homeland to become a safe base and so close to hurt Arabs,” the President added.

“There is no way before Muslims but to voice their solidarity with the right against injustice and to cooperate with each other to attain real success.” President Saddam Hussein said.

President Saddam Hussein asked the guest to convey greetings to President Perwez Musharaf and to the people and government of Pakistan. 

Present at the meeting were Trade Minister Mohammed Mehdi Saleh and Foreign Minister Naji Sabri Ahmad.

President Saddam Hussein Meets Air Force Commander 

Baghdad, AUGUST 16

President Saddam Hussein on Wednesday met General Hammed Raja Shalah, Air force Commander accompanied with a selection of researchers in Medicine, Pharmacology and Medical appliances specialization who are distinguished at the Air Force Command and Iraqi universities.

The attendees congratulated President Saddam Hussein on the anniversary of the Great Victory Day on 8 August, 1988, wishing his excellency long life and health and thanking Allah for granting the Iraqis a brave leader who planted in their hearts love of facing confronting difficulties and restored Iraq's human role and its real face as a center of science, culture and civilization.

His excellency expressed happiness to meet that selection of researchers including two Palestinians researchers as they offer their researches experiments for the service of Iraq, Arab nation and the entire humanity.

He appreciated their efforts and scientific initiatives, confirming his unlimited support or any endeavor and work meant to serves Iraq and the Arab nation.

President Hussein said " this time, Iam happy three times not twice, first Iam happy as they are Palestinians among you from dear and wounded Palestine, wounded of its enemy and its relative, Arabs".

He added that he did not believe that Arab people in west or east of the Arab nation under any name of states or countries differ with the spirit of the people in Iraq and Palestine or any other people anywhere except in one thing which was that spirit of the Iraqis has been tested and offered a chance to be guide for the best choice and when they guided with their initial models at the starting line, the progress went ahead.

President Hussein further added that some of his comrades and brothers questioned if Intifada will go ahead with the same zeal? And his excellency said to them that the zeal of Intifada will escalate and after some days they will count weeks and when they passed weeks and reach a month, they will count months and after months it will last and as wee see it is going on.

He affirmed "as we talking about chemistry and its relation with the treatment of diseases spread in Iraq owing to the aggression, we say the foundation inside the Arab nation is available and if there is any defection, it is not from people but from other titles which put or themselves other nominal that they lead the people or rule them and do not fulfill duties".

He pointed out " Iam happy to see among you two of your brothers from Palestine, in addition to their "Iraqism" as it became a title for the nation and the Iraqi nationality, with the meanings represent by Iraq in Jihad and service of the nation, becomes a nationality for any sincere Arab for his nation either in Iraq or outside as the national identity on the base f its original meanings is Iraq's identity and made first by Iraqis and by its inspiration they are guided to fulfill the great service for the nation".

President Hussein said" so, you have, now, two Palestinians with Palestine's meanings f brotherhood and accompany with Iraq and Um Al-ma'ark in its men and women stances who face up to the injustice Zionist entity aided by the vice elements in the west on top of them the U S administration, Iam happy, secondly, for the researchers interest as they work with the Air Force in other matters and when they asked to support it in a research about treating Iraqis diseases or others needed by humanity, the Air Force did not tell them that it is out of its specialization or interest".

He confirmed "the medications researches came this time with the support f the Air Force not from the Health or Industry Ministry which is a happy occasion and my third reason to be happy is that the process of promoting results comes from the spiritual promotion and the great desire in serving the higher meanings of the people and nation, so God bless you and bless the woman among you who has an additional grade for well-known reasons".

He added that Iraq's victory in the glorious Qadissiya, put behind Arabs a model from the present, as in the past we were always talking about models in the history, a matter which made some of the people suspect the accuracy of them but in Qadissiya, the nation restored the old models and started to see them all true as the same people fight for eight year and face all the difficulties regardless of the enemy identity.

President Saddam Hussein Receives Arab Delegation 

Baghdad, August 19

President Saddam Hussein received on Saturday a delegation of Arab businessmen who arrived in Baghdad on board a private Boeing-747 airplane. 

The plane was presented to his excellency as a gift in a show of support to the people of Iraq to break the unjust sanctions. 

The President welcomed Arab businessmen, thanked them for their gift and hailed their stances in support of Iraq's issue. 

Commenting on some Arab businessmen views, the President said that it is naturally that the U.S administrations are under Zionist influence because they could not get power unless the Zionist’s support. His excellency inquired why do some Arabs offer facilities to enemy warplanes which uses their bases, airspace or sums so as to bomb Iraqi children and women? He added “How can a king or a prince ruling his people and cannot tell foreigners to respect his post among his people?”. “They are insulting their peoples and their nation when they say they are afraid of the foreigners while they are in their own land and in power,” President Hussein said. 

President Saddam Hussein gifted the airplane to Iraqi Airways Company.

President Saddam Hussein Receives Cuban MP

Baghdad, August 22

President Saddam Hussein on Tuesday received Cuban MP, Head of Cuban-Iraqi Friendship Committee Alfares Cambras and his family. 

Cambras Conveyed a verbal message to President Saddam Hussein from Cuban President Fidel Castro pertainingto Cuba’s keenness on strengthening friendship and cooperation relations between the two countries and Cuba’s solidarity with the people of Iraq in facing up to the Zionist imperialist attack and its demand in lifting the unjust sanctions. He affirmed that friendship and fraternal relations between Iraq and Cuba will remain despite all aggressive conspiracies. 

President Saddam Hussein affirmed that Iraqis are confident of their victory. He said that Iraq’s conditions this year are better than the previous years at the economic and popular levels and at the level of awareness and ability to defy hardships and confront the Americans. ” Our ability on the military level becomes higher as it is on the civilian level.. concerning political level, our relations with world states and Arabs are better now, there are but two countries remain slantwise because the U.S and British warplanes are still launching their aggression taking off from Saudi and Kuwaiti territories to harm Iraq.”

The Cuban MP said America becomes more bellicose towards Cuba and it began to practice terrorist operations against Cuba aiming at deranging Cuban economy.

“The U.S administration had publicly allocated 200 million dollars to thwart President Castro, and they are now trying to add 100 million dollars for achieving the same target,” he pointed out. 

He made it clear that Cuba is working to create an atmosphere of international solidarity against America in condemnation of the U.S aggressive acts, and to create a wide base to fight globalization which the U.S seeks to impose on the world.

President Saddam Hussein welcomed the guest and asked him to convey greetings to President Castro and the people of Cuba.

“Americans are still practicing their known enmity.. they had publicly allocated 200 million dollars to back Mafia and allocated sums to traitors outside Iraq.. this does not disturb us because the United States is a foe and the foe behave in way it gains benefits to it,“ the President said, “Though we note that the U.S grip began diminish at world level, the evil spirit inside its administration against all its anti-policy peoples is still present.“

“We keep on our declared policy, and we feel satisfaction because Arab masses are considering it a policy in defending the principles of the nation. This year their is a progress in the UN Security Council talks on Iraq.. for the first time a member in the Security Council appeared to say to America: stop issuing unjust resolutions on Iraq, this was a Russian stand.. at time Russia posted the forefront lines, we think and we are sure that there are more countries which share Russia’s position .. it is naturally to say that if other UN Security Council members had adopted a resolution neglecting Russian stand on the so called ‘smart sanctions’ proposal on Iraq, it would be rejected by Iraq,” the President said.

As for Iraqi-Cuban relations, President Hussein said Iraq rejects any U.S bid to harm Cuba and Iraq took this position since long time when the battle between Iraq and the United States was not yet in this image.

President Saddam Hussein Meets Director of Electricity Commission, Group of Technicians 

Baghdad, August 23

President Saddam Hussein on Wednesday met Director of Electricity Commission Sahban Faisal Mahjoub and a group of technical and engineering cadres at electricity sector. 

At the outset of the meeting, President Hussein was acquainted with an explanation presented by the Director of Commission and the attendance about creativity and accomplishments done by the Commission’s cadres aiming to develop production of power and increase its capabilities in a way that could contribute in meeting shortage in power. President Hussein hailed efforts made by Commission’s cadres.
