President Hussein granted gift

Baghdad, August 4

President Saddam Hussein viewed a gift presented by Tammuz (July) revolutionaries.

Vice-Chairman of Revolution Command Council Izzat Ibrahim, who presented the gift, explained symbols of the gift which reveals the comrades’ appreciation of President Saddam Hussein’s leading unique role and the reason behind breaking out the 17-30 July Revolution.

Present at the ceremony was Head of Presidency Office Ahmed Hussein Khudheir.

President Hussein holds military meeting

Baghdad, August 5

President Saddam Hussein on Monday met Member of Iraq’s Regional Command of Arab Ba’th Socialist Party, Republican Guard Supervisor Qusay Saddam Hussein, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Military Industrialization Abdul Tawwab Al-Mulla Howeish, Defence Minister Lieut. Gen. Sultan Hashim Ahmed, Minister of Industry and Minerals Myasser Rija Shlah, Head of Atomic Energy Organization Dr. Fadhil Muslim Al-Janabi, commanders of Air Force, Air Defence and Military Engineering College and a group of technicians, engineers and researchers in all fields.

At the outset of the meeting, Howeish, on behalf of attendance, greeted President Hussein on the 14th anniversary of the Great Victory Day (the Day of all days), referring to the day in which the brave Army of Iraq had stifled the morbid Iranian dreams in domination over the region in August 8, 1988.

The Deputy Prime Minister confirmed the fighters’ adherence to their leader as defiant soldiers to have the honor of contribution in the honorable confrontation to defend Iraq against the aggressors.

President Hussein was acquainted with a brief on the phases the technical, engineering and researching mobilization has traversed towards carrying out the tasks required. The President lauded the fighters’ achievements, calling them for further determination, cooperation, coordination and accuracy to carry out the duties to serve the goals of the Iraqi people.

President: if enemies insist on aggression, Iraq will fight them, defeat them

On the 14th anniversary of Great Victory Day (The Day of All Days) and amid feelings of victory of Iraq and its people’s legendary steadfastness under President Saddam Hussein’s wise leadership, His Excellency President Saddam Hussein received Vice-Chairman of Revolution Command Council Ezzet Ibrahim, Vice-President Taha Yassen Ramadan, Vice-President Taha Muhiddin Ma’rouf, Deputy Prime Minister Tareq Aziz, Member of Revolution Command Council Lieut. Gen. Ali Hasan Al-Majeed, Member of Revolution Command Council Mzban Khider Hadi, National Assembly Speaker Dr. Sadoon Hammadi, members of Iraq’s Regional Command of Arab Ba’th Socialist Party and former members of Revolution Command Council and Iraq’s Regional Command of Arab Ba’th Socialist Party.

President Hussein said that “many of the people in the 8- years-long Al-Qaddissiya battle had dealt with what had been prompted that there is no end of this war.. but when God wills an all those concerned, the soldier in the trench of fighting up to the supreme leadership, remembered that their duty was the organized mobilization where every person knows his mission and role in imposing a new page to achieve peace, the new image was imposed and peace was achieved.”

The President called on Iraqis to be ready at all times to confront those who want harm for Iraq and seek to shackle its people.

“As long as confrontation is expected, man should prepare himself always,” the President said.

The well-wishers talked about the heroic deeds the defiant Iraqi Army had recorded in the history of the mankind that forced the Iranian side to accept reluctantly the UN Security Council resolutions, greeting President Saddam Hussein for his leading role achieving the great victory on August 8, 1988.

“Al-Qddisiya Battle II is a long, deep history, and it will remain cover all history of the nation and the history of great Iraq and its future,” Vice-Chairman of Revolution Command Council Ezzet Ibrahim said.

On the same occasion, President Saddam Hussein received Member of Iraq’s Regional Command of Arab Ba’th Socialist Party, Republican Guard Supervisor Qusay Saddam Hussein, Deputy Prime Minister, Hikmet Ibrahim Al-Azzawi, Deputy Prime Minister Abdul Tawwab Al-Mulla Howeish, Head of Presidency Office Ahmed Hussein Khudheir, Cabinet ministers, Minister of State for Military Affairs Lieut. Gen. Abdul Jabbar Shanshal, Defence Minister Lieut. Gen. Sultan Hashim Ahmed and members of General Command of the Armed Forces.

In his speech to the attendance, the President expressed big optimism of Iraq’s victory on its enemies as long as its sons depend on their capabilities and self abilities after depending on the God Almighty.

“We are victorious before the confrontation and in the final result, God’s Willing, as long as we have the right, though we pray to Allah to keep the enemies away from us, but if they insist on aggression we will fight them and defeat them,” President Hussein said.

President Saddam Hussein receives George Galloway

Baghdad, August 10

President Saddam Hussein on Thursday received British Labor MP George Galloway.

During the audience, Mr. Galloway reviewed activities made by him and a number of British political figures and MPs calling for not participating in aggression on Iraq to preserve good relations between Britain and the Arab Nation and maintain peace in the Middle East.

Mr. Galloway affirmed that the Iraqi cause should be solved by political diplomatic means. He praised Iraq’s diplomatic efforts in this respect, among which, Iraqi Foreign Minister’s letter to the UN Secretary General to hold a technical dialogue with Chief and members of UNMOVIC, and the National Assembly’s letter to chiefs of American Parliament and Senate to visit Iraq with experts in different specializations to see firsthand and be sure that the US administration allegations on weapons of mass destruction are false.

President Saddam Hussein praised Mr. Galloway’s efforts. The President hoped that Britain would not take part in aggression on Iraq and keep away from American foolish policy.

Present at the meeting were Deputy Prime Minster Tareq Aziz and Foreign Minister Naji Sabri.

President acquaints with birthday gifts

Baghdad, August 11

President Saddam Hussein on Saturday has acquainted with gifts presented to him from Iraqi, Arab and foreign figures, organizations and unions on the occasion of his birthday on April 28.

Some of the gifts were presented from Arab nationals of Jordan, Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen, Tunis, Syria, Egypt, Morocco, UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Whereas other gifts were presented from unions and organizations in Bylarussia, Russia, India, Azerbadjan, Turkey, France, Denmark, Japan, Malaysia, Yugoslavia, South Africa, Armenia, Ukraine, Thailand and Sri Lanka.

All the gifts reflected their owners’ admiration feelings to His Excellency wishing him good health and long live to lead Iraqis into their progressive life.

Presented at the ceremony was Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Military Industrialization Abdul Tawwab Al-Mulla Howeish.

President Saddam Hussein on Saturday met Deputy Prime Minister, Military

Industrialization Minister Abdul Tawwab Al-Mulla Howeish and group of researchers and engineers at the Military Industrialization Commission.

During the meeting the attendance presented congratulations to the President on the great victory day wishing the President long live and Iraq more victories and obliging to be faithful soldiers to defend and build their country against all evil aggressors and to foil their malicious plots that target Iraq’s people, culture and system.

The President greeted the attendance praying God to maintain all Iraqi people and army from evil’s plots.

President Hussein receives Sudanese Minister

Baghdad, August 13

President Saddam Hussein on Monday received Sudanese Health Minister Dr. Ahmed Bilal Othman, envoy from President Omer Hasan Ahmed Al-Bashir.

The Sudanese Minister conveyed a message from President Al-Bashir pertaining tobilateral relations and means of boosting them in various fields, in addition to the current situation in Sudan.

He also conveyed greetings from President Al-Bashir, the government and people of Sudan and their support for the Iraqi people in their steadfast and courageous confrontation to the US-Zionist schemings.

Dr. Othman expressed his country’s thank and appreciation to the leadership and people of Iraq for their supportive stand with Sudan during the hard political and economic conditions it (Sudan) has passed through during the recent years, a matter which reflects Iraqi leadership’s keenness on the unity, security, stability and peace in Sudan.

“The Sudanese people hold great love and appreciation to President Saddam Hussein,” said the Minister, lauding Iraqi people’s jihad, strife and its great deeds achieved under President Saddam Hussein’s wise leadership.

President Hussein welcomed the guest and asked him to convey greetings and salutes to President Al-Bashir and the government and the people of Sudan.

The President appreciated the political solution Sudan has lately reached that could serve the unity of its land and people.

President Saddam Hussein talked about Iraqi people steadfastness against the evil aggressors.

“The basic reason behind steadfastness of your brothers in Iraq is that they are feeling that all the Arab nation hopes are depending on them, thus they have to be steadfast,” the President said.

Present at the audience were Health Minister Dr. Omed Midhet Mubarak and Foreign Minister Dr. Naji Sabri Ahmed.

President meets Minister of Military Industrialization

Baghdad, August 18

President Saddam Hussein on Saturday met Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Military Industrialization Abdul Tawwab Al-Mulla Howeish and a group of researchers and engineers.

At the outset of the meeting, Mr. Howeish congratulated President Saddam Hussein for nominating to the Presidency post.

Mr. Howeish reiterated the fighters’ absolute pledge of allegiance for President Saddam Hussein as a unique leader, a national and a pan-Arab symbol and a title of the glory and pride for Iraqis.

President Hussein lauded the efforts exerted by the fighters and their persistence on serving great Iraq and the glorious Arab nation. He asked them to convey greetings and salutes to their brothers in the fields of work.

President Hussein congratulates Indonesian President on National day

President Saddam Hussein sent a telegram of congratulation to President of Indonesia Megawati Sokarnio Botri on her country’s national day.

President Hussein wished the Indonesia President good health and happiness, the people of Indonesia further progress and prosperity and bilateral relations more development.

RCC unanimously re-nominate President Hussein for Presidency post

Baghdad, August 17

According to the provisions of Paragraph (A) of Article (57) of the Constitution, the Revolution Command Council (RCC) held a meeting Thursday chaired by President Saddam Hussein.

The Council again unanimously decided to nominate President Saddam Hussein for the post of President of the Republic of Iraq.

“The President’s leadership of the Revolution and the country within the leading responsibilities he undertook was the assured guarantee to preserve Iraq’s sovereignty, independence and dignity… and to go on the process of building, development and progress despite the imperialistic-Zionist plots and their offensive policies and the unjust sanctions imposed on the Iraqi people,” the members of the Revolution Command Council said at the meeting.

In this regard, a Republican Decree was issued calling on the National Assembly to hold an extraordinary meeting to consider the decision taken by the Revolution Command Council.

President meets Head of Atomic Energy Organization

Baghdad, August19

President Saddam Hussein on Sunday met Head of Atomic Energy Organization Dr. Fadhil Muslim Al-Janabi and a team of researchers and technicians of the Organization, the Oil Ministry and the Ministry of Military Industrialization.

At the outset of the meeting, on behalf of the attendants and their colleagues in their work fields, Dr. Al-Janabi greeted the President on the occasion of re-nominating him to the Presidency post.

Al-Janabi expressed his colleagues' pledge of allegiance to remain loyal to President Hussein as a unique leader and a national and Arab symbol.

He expressed their high readiness to work actively to develop all sectors of life in Iraq to defend their country against their enemies.

President meets Industry Minister

Baghdad, August 21

President Saddam Hussein on Wednesday chaired a meeting with Minister of Industry and Minerals Myesser Rija Shlah and a group of technicians in oil and industry fields.

On behalf of the attendants, the Minister expressed pleasure to meet President Hussein. They also congratulated him on re-nominating him for a new seven-year term of Presidency post by the RCC. They expressed pledge to remain faithful soldiers to build their country in all fields. They wished him long life and good health to lead the country towards the noble principles.

President Hussein thanked the attendants, and praised their efforts to serve their country and urged them to make more coordination with their colleagues to upgrade the level of the work.

President meets university professors, researchers

Baghdad, August 22

President Saddam Hussein met Wednesday Dean of Baghdad University, College of Sciences Dr. Muna Al-Jubbouri, a group of professors in the college and a number of researchers in the Military Industrialization Commission.

At the outset of the audience, Dr. Muna, on behalf of her colleagues in the college, greeted President Saddam Hussein on his re-nomination to the presidency post.

The Dean of the College reiterated allegiance to exert all efforts to dovetail universities with concerned ministries according to his Excellency’s directives.

President Hussein expressed pleasure to the professors’ role in building their society and maintaining its props, and asked them to convey his greetings to their families and colleagues.

The President also hailed women’s contribution to enforcing the people’s steadfastness and combating the US-Zionist aggression, saying “defending home and activating society’s movement is the duty of all people.”

At the outset of the audience, the Military Industrialization Minister affirmed Iraqis’ determination to thwart all enemies' plots and defend their country's independence, dignity and sovereignty.

The attendants renewed pledge of allegiance to be loyal soldiers to build and defend Iraq. They expressed their loyalty to the leadership of President Saddam Hussein till achieving triumph.

President Saddam Hussein on Saturday chaired a meeting included Vice-Chairman of the Revolution Command Council Izzat Ibrahim, Vice-President Taha Yassen Ramadan, Vice-President Taha Muhiddin Ma’rouf, Member of the Revolution Command Council Lieut. Gen. Ali Hasan Al-Majeed, Member of the Revolution Command Council Mezban Khidher Hadi, Speaker of the National Assembly Dr. Sadoun Hammadi, Member of Iraq’s Regional Command of the Arab Ba’th Socialist Party Latef Nsiyef Jassim, Head of Presidency Office Ahmed Hussein Khudheir, Information Minister Mohammed Sa’eed Al-Sahaf and Foreign Minister Naji Sabri.

Vice-President Taha Yassen Ramadan presented a briefing on his visits to Syria and Lebanon where he conveyed letters, which pertained to Arab issues and the anti-Iraq and Arab nation US threats and means of consolidating Arab solidarity, from President Saddam Hussein to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and Lebanese President Emile Lahoud..

Mr. Ramadhan also talked about the outcomes of his visit to Syria where he signed a minutes of the Iraqi-Syrian joint high committee meetings and other bilateral agreements to promote relations between Iraq and Syria.

Foreign Minister Naji Sabri presented a briefing on his visit to China, as an envoy from President Saddam Hussein to Chinese President Jiang Zemin, in which he conveyed a letter pertaining to bilateral relations and issues of common concern.

The meeting discussed a set of important, political Arab and international issues.
