- Scrap - Easily leave
a note on your desktop by dragging text from your open
document
- Shrink the active Word
window so you can see the Desktop (click the RESTORE
icon on the upper right corner of the window),
- Highlight the desired
text, then with a right mouse click, drag your
selection over to the Desktop;
- Release the right mouse
button, then select "Create scrap here".
- Now you have a little
scrap of your work on your desktop. This is a
new file, saved in the Windows\Desktop folder.
- To remove it from the
Desktop, select the scrap and hit DELETE (or use the
right-click mouse menu).
- Faux text - To check
the visual appeal of formatting on a page, you can work
with fake text by typing a simple command
- =rand(p,s)
- In place of the
"p", type the number of paragraphs you want,
- In place of the
"s", type the number of sentences per
paragraph,
- Then hit ENTER.
